March Chit Chat

Hi and welcome back to Fashion Fourteen!

I haven’t done a chit chat since I started my blog back in December! So today, I thought I would have a bit of a chat with you on my blog about bullet journaling! Now, this was one of the things which I wanted to do when I said about changing my blog slightly, so I hope you enjoy!

So if you aren’t familiar with the term bullet journaling, it is basically a mix of a diary, to do list, doodles and notes. It can be whatever you want it to be. Now, you will probably enjoy bullet journaling more if you consider yourself a creative person or you like to doodle and organise yourself.

So, your probably asking, what does it look like and how can you start? My answer is, it can look like whatever you want. All you need is an A4/ A5 notebook. My personal selection is slightly in between. The notebook which I am using is the Zoella Lifestyle Once Upon a Time Notebook (£14.00, Boots). I found that this was the perfect size and if I want to take it some where, you can easily fit it in your bag, but there is enough room to write and doodle.

I actually kept the front cover as it was because of the writing on it, which I didn’t want to ruin, but if you had a plain notebook, you could doodle or write on the front. Instead on writing on the front page, I created a cover page inside. All I did was use Sharpie (although these sunk through to the next page, so instead, I recommend using felt tips or pencils etc) and write “2017 Bullet Journal” and doodled alongside it. I think this looked quite cool, but also quite simple.

On the next page, I draw a key. This is so that I can tell what type of note it is. My key looked a little like this:

o- note

<- to do

– – event

* – event

# – homework

+ – other

On the next page, I decided to get a little creative. I drew myself a water tracker. This included drawing out a calendar of the year and when circling when I have had water. Being someone who doesn’t drink much water at all, I am finding this useful as it sets my mind into I need to drink water mode.

On the next page, I simply draw out a march calendar and overview page. Here I am recording important notes for the month and other things which I need to remember. As well as this, I have drawn out the individual days of the month in a traditional diary style, so if I want, I can write diary entries etc. A similar thing to this is a yearly overview. To do this, I have just drawn six columns and divided them in half so there are twelve- enough for each of the months- and drawn out the dates and left space for notes underneath. I think this is probably one of my favourite pages.

The most recent page which I have done is a March Spending page, where I have tracked how much I have spent this much and what I have spent it on. I have found this really useful for saving my money effectively.

As well as these pages, I  have added odd pages with the date on if there is a particular event which needs notes bigger than the given diary space, for example a to do list.

So thats about it for bullet journaling. Overall, so far, I am loving it!

I hope you have enjoyed this chit chat and slightly different addition to my blog, I’m really looking forward to this change!

See you soon,

FF x

    Hey!

Bullet journaling seems like a lot of fun. I’ve heard the term and seen some other examples but I haven’t quite tried it myself. Maybe it’s about time I give it a shot.

    Change is always great!
